Our Story

From grassroots initiative to comprehensive development organization

Hololo Development Foundation is a community-driven, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the livelihoods and living standards within and around the Hololo region. Established by a group of passionate local leaders, our foundation emerged from the recognition that sustainable development requires grassroots involvement and community ownership.

Over the years, we have evolved from a small initiative into a comprehensive development organization that addresses multiple facets of community wellbeing. Our approach is holistic, participatory, and focused on long-term impact rather than short-term solutions.

We believe that every community member has valuable knowledge, skills, and insights to contribute to the development process. Our work is built on the principle that sustainable change comes from within communities, supported by external resources and expertise when needed.

Our Mission

The Hololo Development Foundation exists to facilitate community-led development initiatives that address the most pressing challenges facing our region. We are committed to:

  • Assisting community members to improve livelihoods through agricultural projects

  • Mobilizing agricultural resources and support such as greenhouses and related facilities
  • Cultivating crops and vegetables for community sustenance
  • Collecting and sharing knowledge, especially with the youth

  • Rearing livestock for economic and nutritional purposes
